This was an excellent book with a very well done plot. The story line keeps you interested with a lot of sizzling spankings and sex thrown in. Caitlin is a very strong, independent, smart woman who witnesses a murder, landing her in the WITSEC program. She falls hard for a US Marshal, Chase Bennett, and they have two days of intense love making before he must let her go for her own protection. Years later, a slip of judgment on her part, causes him to find her and attempt to place her back into custody. She gives him the slip, her trust in the government having disappeared along with a great deal of her own money. She knows someone in the program is bad. Despite her attempts to keep Chase out of her life, he is just as determined to reclaim her as his own. The book is well written and the characters are well developed. You find yourself rooting for the good guys, including her best friend, Valerie who falls for Chase's partner, Blake. The only fly in the ointment as far as Caitlin is concerned is that Chase believes strongly in domestic discipline. Can she bend enough to recognize she needs not only his love, but his willingness to take her in hand to keep her safe? I highly recommend this one.Product details

Fantastic story here and oh my, did I love the length of this book! Great plot with danger, twists and turns, action, love and romance. Caitlin is a strong woman who sometimes just doesn't really understand that what she is fighting against is what she needs the most. There is great chemistry between Caitlin and Chase and he is definitely up for the challenge she presents and won't give up easily. I just loved that we were able to meet and read about so many other characters involved in this story, made for a great read. This is one I will definitely read again. Well done!!
What a great novel! This one is full length, full of intrigue, full of plot twists, and has spanking in it! First of all, for me the characters were extremely engaging and interesting. No shrinking violet for a heroine here; Caitlin is extremely smart and more than will to save herself, not leave it to a man to help her. I loved that about her! And Chase is terrific too! He's all alpha male, but without the "caveman" tendencies. They were perfect for each other. Loved the other characters in the story too! This was an excellent read and I can't say enough good things about it!!
I loved this story. It started off slow but quickly picked up. I am sure this is one I will reread. Caitlin witnesses a murder and is put into WITSEC. Her identity is compromised a few times so she ditches WITSEC and for two years keeps herself hidden. When she does a local news piece to raise money for the mustang sanctuary she is working at and it goes national, her cover is compromised again. Not only are the bad guys after her again but WITSEC Agent, Chase is on her doorstep before she can even leave town. Chase is the one that got away. They had a short period of hot monkey sex before consequences separated them. Now, Chase has his heart set on keeping Caitlin, keeping her safe, secure and loved. There is great chemistry between Chase and Caitlin. They struggle to figure out their roles in their relationship but they do it with care for each other. There are so many characters that add so much to this story. I loved Blake and Valerie; their interaction with each other and as
Chase and Caitlin's friends. Chase's family was so real and supportive. The help and insight they gave Caitlin was invaluable.
The only real issue I had with it was hero was a hypocrite. There were things she couldn't do that he did.
Loved both the characters in this book. Loved the romance and the adventure.
Although I enjoyed some of her other books, this was not one of them. The men were overbearing jerks and the women were doormats. Caitlin was about 50 times smarter and more capable than Chase yet he treated her like a slow-witted child. I found it improbable that such a smart and capable woman would stay around for this caveman.
This is a wonderful story by Mariella Starr! Her female characters are strong. They are not shrinking violets. Caitlin was in the Witness Protection Program for three years and then she told them to shove it and left. She is adept at giving herself new identities and is always ready to run, if needed. She also is a computer wizard. She is known in the computer world as a great programmer. Chase Bennett is the marshal who helped her originally. They had a brief affair and then had to go their separate ways. He has always loved her as she has loved him and he goes to help her. Unfortunately for him, she doesn’t want or need his help. She gets away from him twice and when he finds her again, she finally decides to stay with him. All of the spankings in this book are disciplinary and, WOW, are they hot! She does not accept the spankings from him, she fights until she finally has to give in. But, as she learns more about Chase and his background, she tries to understand his reasoning. This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. The women are not weak; they are strong and more than capable of taking care of themselves. The men are strong alphas who express their love by spanking. There is a HEA, but it is a long and wild ride along the way. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
